CenturyLink Network Event Management gets TL 9000 certified
CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) has added further value to its overall capabilities by earning TL 9000 certification for its Network Event Management Center (NEMC). TL 9000 certification puts CenturyLink into a market leader position as it becomes one of the first North American service providers to earn and only one of six companies in the world to receive a TL 9000 NOC certification from the Quality of Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum. CenturyLink now has certification for network event management, change management, root cause analysis and reason for outage under the product categories 7.3.2 Network Operations Center (NOC) and 7.9 General Support Services (GSS).
To achieve the certifications, CenturyLink's Network Event Management Center (NEMC) had to undergo an audit by National Quality Assurance (NQA) and be recognized for its quality management initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, including 24/7 support services from its Network Change Management organization. Through NEMC, CenturyLink offers customers a host of services, including network outage support, network event reporting to employees and government agencies, change management, planned maintenance customer notifications, reason for outage reports, and crisis management support. To keep the TL 9000 certification, CenturyLink's NEMC will be subject to ongoing business and technical audits to ensure minimum criteria is maintained, and ongoing quality improvement. Gaining TL 9000 certification is a key achievement for the service provider as it continues to transform itself from a rural telephone operator to a global service provider that now serves large multinational corporations and federal government agencies.
