PAETEC Opens McLean Data Center
PAETEC has announced that its newest data center to be located in McLean, Virginia will offer colocation and cloud-based services for both private business and government agencies. The new facility will feature 49,000 square feet of raised floor space and will offer colocation space, power and connectivity to PAETEC's network services portfolio including high-speed, fault-tolerant connections to the public Internet. For cloud deployments, customer applications that reside in the new data center will leverage dedicated server, virtual server, managed cloud storage, hosted exchange and hosted network security services.
With the addition of the McLean facility, PAETEC increases its data center operations to seven main locations, including Andover, Massachusetts, Bethlehem and Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Houston Texas, Phoenix Arizona, and Richmond, Virginia. By expanding to McLean, the home of major government integrators and only ten miles outside of Washington, D.C., PAETEC will be well positioned for the government's growing interest and adoption of cloud services, and builds upon it's recent acquistion of Cavalier Telephone and its Intellifiber subsidiary, both of which had a strong presence in government agencies.
