| PSTN |
Public Switched Telephone Network or PSTN sometimes referred to as Plain Old Telephone Service or POTS is the network of worldwide public circuit-switched telephone networks. It is comprised of telephone lines, fiber optic cables, microwave transmission links, cellular networks, communications satellites, and undersea telephone cables connected by switching centers, which allows any telephone in the world to communicate with any other. Originally a network of fixed-line analog telephone systems, the PSTN is now nearly all digital in its core. Aliases (separate with |): Public Switched Telephone Network
