| Carrier Ethernet |
Carrier Ethernet is a set of extensions to the original Ethernet LAN protocol, enabling telecommunications carriers and providers to make use of Ethernet technology within their private network infrastructures, and provide a physical Ethernet interface (to the carrier network) and related services to customers. Carrier Ethernet is also distinguishable from LAN Ethernet by its standardized set of services, scalability, reliability, quality of service (QoS) and service management attributes. |
