Disaster Recovery (Planning), or DR, is the process, policies and procedures relating to the preparation for recovery or continuation of critical technology infrastructure after a human induced or natural disaster. Disaster recovery is a subset of Business Continuity, which involves the planning required to keep all aspects of a business functioning in the midst of any disruptive events, while Disaster Recovery focuses solely on the IT or technology systems that support critical to core business functions.
